A BATTLEbusiness Plan; antihedge
Summary
<-hedge funds usually suck.
<--the good ones are MANAGED by weirdos.
<---the best ones are used for more than dividends.
It seems that Funds, hedge funds included, are born before they are built. Many people do not value the power of simulation until they are already immersed in Part of the global economy. Using a mixture of unconventional analysis and the skill-set, statistical prowess, deadly-efficient workflow, constant attention and energy of a true technical fund manager redacted hews through the meaningless minutiae that often accompanies a lifetime spent inside numbers and finds the soul of the market. We watch its movements as a barely integrated collection of disparate intangibles which are inexplicably and enormously valuable. Through the power inherent in what are often marketed as games which are in fact a poorly presented but thoroughly connected and accurate versions of what finance professionals see daily redacted can track infinite contingencies in real time. That is how it was possible for a well if unconventionally educated man to take an academic approach to understanding the easy profitability available from a thoroughly researched portfolio that is constantly managed not for diversity, but for weighted distribution.
Competition is a major factor when weighing whether a managed fund is a worthwhile and at least probably profitable investment. Success is difficult to predict because the ability matrix which makes a Fund manager is a rare commodity. It is not a known quantity until it has proven itself. To even begin requires a massive expenditure both of capital and risk. It is the major factor that causes nearly ninety percent of hedge funds to fail. Doomed hedge funds are day-trading overwrought. Time and again a certain type of individual, often aloof, often eccentric appears to alchemically whip growth and reliability out of thin air. Soros and Buffet, Blackrock, Baum. All names known to professionals and only known broadly because of ridiculously flawed reportage and entertainment. But the truth of men like this who have demonstrable success in the management of long term investment for profit funds is that they are the personification of intangible and are thus able to make a creation of pure mathematics both less real and more logical.
Intangibles are very rarely as ephemeral as they seem. Very often they are just a more complex type of reality than the average mind can process. The science of economics is a perfect example and extremely relevant to the discussion. Most college students would describe physics as hard science and economics as much softer. But physicists, particularly particle and theoretical, know that most of the "tangibles" they deal with are anything but. Most mass market media that deals with physics is centered around how often it is wrong and its working hypotheses are disproved. Economic principles are proven with statistics and history which while not perfect are far more tangible than the Higgs-Boson.
Hard science and its validity as a tool cannot be overlooked but it also cannot be overvalued. Fundamental analysts cannot hack tech or are not interested because their method works. Techs trade by chart and managed fact and often lack perspective. Academics are usually indifferent to money in especially large quantities and rarely leave the comfort of tenure to pursue intangibles. Few financial professionals understand enough to apply a vast breadth of general knowledge, unconventionally attained, to safely provide dividends. That is what the men described above and many but few others do. And that is what redacted does. That is what sets this fund apart from the constructs of doom scraped together by lucky traders on a run to oblivion. redacted does not trade stocks well or diversify portfolios. redacted watches the whole world all the time and applies everything it learns to a thoroughly risk-managed portfolio which is very reliably neutral when infinitely attended and which is essentially a very balanced substrate for a steady but rapid fungi-like growth. Essentially redacted built a stable of rock, filled it with Arabian brood flesh which produces regular foals destined to light the world with kinesis.
It is critical not to over-manage the fund so that growth can be afforded significant and deserved attention and that is what an ability to use intangibles tangibly, essentially to reduce the building of an investment fund to a craft, a good growth manager can slowly build an exponential engine that grows organically but quickly, fungi-like. Any successful fund manager is never a day trader. He is a day of days trader.
Adding the exponential power of BigData EDM, third party unconventional analysis and ethical business intelligence eliminates variables introduced by capital shifts in or on the NYSE as they affect similar but smaller shifts throughout the day through subsequent time zones thus reliable long position and option trading should be achievable simply by evaluating the behavior of what are essentially living entities as they react and relate to each other. Global cargo and capital movement is a true tangible and easily monitored. Shipping drags the major currency exchanges, large equity, indexes and ETFs in its wake. This theory as it relates to the trading of short options and OTC derivaties is of course impossible to apply safely at the individual security level without a great deal of cushion in the fund. The potential losses associated with irresponsible trading in options contracts which are little more than free expensive insurance are far too great to make it a component of any fund's core strategy.
These concepts are what mandate risk management guidelines as first principles of a fund manager. And lest we forget that arguably the best risk management firm is also, with 5.1t AUM, the richest single known entity. Blackrock. Professionals that financiers and few others know. Who were begged by the federal governments of many desperate nations to risk manage essential finance institutions. What did these indispensables do? Cut bonuses, covered everything up and started over with new acronyms and old scams. Without breaking a stride community centered, globally focused Blackrock built the best portfolio in the world. Their products are the gold standard and a relatively profitable fund could be built of their vehicles alone. If one got the proof and missed the point. It is not what they do but how they choose to do it.
Reduce the market to first principles to eliminate intangibles but also to provide a larger scope than a standard technical model. Fundamental analysis seems to mean a social science of money movement that is neither technical or accurate in precept. At it's lowest form it is a news junkie who likes to gamble. Hence elemental. By investigating the impact of history and economic theory modeling on the ECONOMY it is easier to see how it affects THE MARKET. Essentially the stock market seems to accurately represent the economy but in reality there is a huge amount of privately held capital that interfaces with the market daily but doesn't participate. The behavior and impact of these interactions is one example of elemental analysis.
It is obvious that a month old fund is not the first Johnny-come-lately to appreciate the impact of private capital on the market. Too often though it seems analysts realize this already bound by the laziness of easy money and/or the obtundity of overwrought revelation. Furthermore most MBAs understanding of economics doesn't exceed forgotten textbooks and dusty, for-show, old looking new seeming Smith's and Marx's. This is the difference. By combining social Science with technical science a fund can fuse fundamental and technical analysis. By applying energy something vastly simpler yet elegantly intricate emerges.
After the last trading day of 2016 the world of finance reportage was a dreary place. The conspiracy theorists and bears were frustrated at the successes of the previous years and decided it was all crashing down. The bully optimists couldn't't believe their good luck and doubted it could last. And all the while the real information contained in press releases and filings from individual entities, profit projections and earnings statements all looked very promising. Yet the
‘journalists”, one bought and paid for whore in particular at the AP, filed gloomy headlines chock full of malevolent doubt. Without becoming paranoid and ineffective ourselves it must be admitted that reportage is a business and that investment banks are intimately and parasitically intertwined with media outlets. Is it so unrealistic to think these massive mountains of false money have a undue effect on the media? And that there may be a larger scheme at work? The truth is we all know it and few make money at it. The inspiration for redacted was an elemental distrust of the major media outlets including most that claim to be unbiased and finance-centric. There are a few worth perusing for basic information and occasionally a spark of light in the editorials but the rest of the data they purport to report is either useless or easily available in a less managed form. I won't detail my unfounded suspicions but I will say that a deep seated distrust of managed facts can be an alarmingly powerful tool in the box of an emotionless, at least at work, craftsmen who knows a lot about the intrinsic value of intangibles.
The market has achieved a relatively stable if not spectacular growth during this slightly abbreviated opening month. Nothing bad and a little good. The reason for that mediocrity is that redacted is but a SIMULATION of a managed investment for profit fund that can outrun the whole world of finance in thirty days. That is how facts are supposed to be managed.
ps /forgot the mission statement
redacted was born to support healthy, ethical, profitable business without regard to share price or the vicissitudes of public perception. redacted lives to make the world better through the power inherent in Capital. redacted wakes up early to wage war on false moneylenders and billionaire thieves. After all the military-industrial complex has proven that WAR is always PROFITABLE and the man who robs a thief has committed no crime...Stay Frosty

The trouble with bitcoin and big data is the huge energy bill - The Guardian
The Guardian The trouble with bitcoin and big data is the huge energy bill The Guardian Once upon a time, a very long time ago – 2009 in fact – there was a brief but interesting controversy about the carbon footprint of a Google search. It was kicked off by a newspaper story reporting a “calculation” of mysterious origin that suggested a ... http://dlvr.it/Q2vVV0 #bigdata #hadoop #analytics

floq.to/7dLMl // Why Is Data Quality Holding Up Data-Driven Business Decisions? Only a few years ago, the data in the world used to be primarily structured data that was relatively easy to analyse. However, in the age of information overload, most of the data has become unstructured or semi-structured data. In fact, currently 90% of all data is unstructured data such as documents, videos, images, voice records etc. Combining these different data sources and putting it into context in order to get, real-time, insights is a big challenge for business leaders. According to a survey by ClearStory Data among 500 business leaders at the Strata Conference in October 2014, data variety is the biggest challenge they need to overcome in order to become successful with Big Data. Almost 50% of the business leaders surveyed indicates that they need to blend 8-15 different data sources. Combining and mixing those data sources takes time and for over 2/3 of the business leaders surveyed this takes too long for them to make it useful. Combining multiple data sources with different varieties provides great insights for organizations, but doing so correctly is not very easy. It requires the right tools and employees to manage it correctly. As a result, for many of the organizations surveyed, the challenge to correctly mix multiple data sources has become more important. In fact, this ‘Mixed Data’ approach has become a bigger challenge for business leaders than data quality, which of course still does remain a challenge for organizations. According to an InformationWeek survey, the percentage of organizations that put data quality as their top priority has dropped from 59% to 51%. An interesting finding as without correct data and algorithms, any insights from analytics is deemed useless. Combining data sources can offer fantastic insights, but unfortunately for many organizations it is still a long way away. The below infographic provides more insights in why data quality is holding up data-driven decision-making within organizations. What do you think is the main challenge for organizations wanting to become data driven? #bigdataanalytics #bigdata #datascience

What awaits the SEO industry after the release of Minusinsk
Tumblr media
After the release of Minusinsk a new text filter is going to appear and it will hit both the 2 dollars copywriting and the websites that were made for Miralinsk along with everyone, who is preoccupied with filling web pages with useless content for the scope of expanding the semantics. Should we try and analyze the current situation on the PR market in an objective manner and namely – the results of the filters’ actions that Yandex surprised us with last year (AGS and Minusinsk), it becomes quite apparent that something crucial is missing for the “bigger picture”.
Let us avoid all the controversy regarding what “the bigger picture” is by agreeing that each has its own notion. For the optimizers it is the possibility to earn money in a quick and easy manner, using an already established system and for Yandex – it is to ruin this system and to build a new one. Nowadays, despite a pretty harsh pressing that is being cast upon the optimizers by Yandex (which resulted in two thirds of the linking business to be utterly annihilated throughout the last couple of years) – the system was not changed in a fundamental manner. The existing system turn out to be very robust – it is filled with both horizontal and vertical relationships on all levels. The SEO market is linked to the issuance relevance and it does depend on its infrastructure. In many ways, commercial issuance is relevant namely due to the efforts of lazy optimizers and the annihilation of the link selling industry already led to a temporary and yet quite substantial decrease in quality of commercial issuance.
Yes, the modern market is still far from perfect, but it is changing. The recently released filters are basically two parts of the same medal – the new AGS is punishing websites that are selling SEO links, while Minusinsk is punishing the websites that are buying those links. The day when unprofessional optimizers are going to lose control over the linking factor altogether is quite close, but what is coming next?
Well, in that case, the medal is going to be transformed into a pyramid and its third part will be the new text filter. A sort of Minusinsk for articles or, perhaps, it is going to be named Baku – after the city where “Iskra” magazine was being secretly produced – it does not really matter. What matters is the fact that it will hit the 2 dollars copywriting and all the websites that were made for Miralinsk as well as all those that were preoccupied with filling various websites with useless content for the sake of expanding the semantics. The filter is going to cut all the content projects that are not offering ample value and its release is pretty much imminent.
It seems that the idea of pessimizing the number of pages for irrelevance is quite apparent as well, but why does Yandex hesitate when it comes to fulfilling it? Well, for the same reason that AGS was initially launched and why Minusinsk was launched afterwards – in order to ensure security Yandex is consistently including new filters. And right now Yandex is preoccupied with trying to deal with the situation that is related to the inclusion of Minuisnsk, since the changes within ecosystem due to decrease of linking market resulted in changes within the yandex algorithm.
The overall chaos that we are currently witnessing within the issuance is actually easily explained by the updates of the bigdata entering Matrixnet – it provoked an unpredictable distortion of normalities within complex metrics of linking quality. The distortion of those metrics was followed by distortions in the website textual analysis – their relevance of anchors and related keys was closely linked to the incoming and outgoing. Due to such global changes Yandex had to initially include the manual regulation mechanism into the most important topics and then they activated the automatic mechanism as well, which is caching the setting ofmetric ranging normalities and then, after a month or two, it is comparing it to the current changes, captures normalities bugs and corrects them – in other words, it is correcting the algorithm itself. We see those processes as a kind of randomization – quite solid periodic changes in traffic and jumps in positions, which are pretty much impossible to analyze within the current conditions. The basics of such a useless analysis are the attempts of capturing the “many-handed bandit”.
The described processes are going to continue and via the “amplitude” of those swings it will be possible to judge the overall “health condition” of the algorithm that is trying to compensate the empowered pressure of the Minusinsk algorithm. When the stability of the search engine will stop being threatened by anything, and the overall peak of resistance of the surrounded ecosystem will pass, the time for the new filter will come – the article related brethren of Minusinsk. But not before. Minusinsk, whose mission is to eliminate the linking marketing industry, is operating quite successfully – Sapa and similar resources were damaged quite severely. When it comes to article links, it is not as straightforward, since SEO links within articles are hardly ever established by Yandex. If, for example, you are going to be using the measuring system of linking weight, it will become obvious that the weight of links with articles is generally much bigger than the weight of the usual sapalinks and the number of SEO links within the topical selection of Sapa, which was checked by the SEO links filter, in most cases reaches 90% against 10% in the articles. So it is only natural that the SEO marketing links industry is quickly moving towards the articles.
It is also apparent that the future fight with useless links will not be going within the notions of SEO link/ none-SEO link, since the majority of links with articles are not being located within SEO links (and are classified as “poor quality advertising, conceptually not being subject to prohibition, since the existence of advertising links is completely natural), but within the notion filed SEO article/none-SEO article. It implies that the overall quality of the article itself is going to fall under analysis, both within the website and within the limits of the topic.
It is a known fact that there are two types of document quality quorums and they are determining whether the given document is going to indexed/left within the index or not. If the same quality documents are prevailing online, it will be difficult for it to pass the quorum of usefulness among all the already existing ones. And if the website where such a document is being posted has bigger trust and ensures certain internal traffic via that document (meaning that is passed the usefulness quorum for the given website), it is a great basis to leave it within the index itself.
A certain index rotation of documents that exist within it is quite within the characteristics for larger web pages. The more commonly known metric of a document’s uselessness within a website is the sematic similarity or duplication. Optimizers are well aware that duplications could lead to poor website ranging, but the upcoming filters will not be limited by this metric. It is going to pessimize for the number of pages that are taking part within the index rotation. This means that if right now the pages that are not passing the usefulness quorum (for instance, it is not the right season for the product, which is described on the give page), are not resulting in pessimization, in the future even an extensive quantity of those on a page due to natural causes are going to lead to sanctions for the new filter. Since IT IS PROHIBITED for anyone to have a huge assortment of products that could mostly be attributed to the larger resellers.
And it is going to be true for the old commercial websites as well, so I recommend you to get rid of those unpopular pages or prohibit them via robotx.txt, letting the search engine know that these pages only have archaic value and will not be part of the ranging issuance.
This is mostly linked to ecommerce and as for the relevance of the pages that are attributed to the websites made for Miralinks for which the usefulness quorum is not being controlled for the vast majority of posted articles – right now they are simply being thrown out of the index, but the new filter is going to punish for it in the future.
The new filter, much like the Minusinsk, will be update and will have two factors – in line with the quantity of useless pages and in line with their quality. Remember what I wrote in my last article about the allowed thresholds of AGS and Minusinsk that are necessary for the filter to work, the filter’s thresholds are going to be increased with every new iteration and will detroy bad articles in the first place.
Prophylaxis methods:
Not to post any links on bad websites in articles that are not being read by anyone and will never be read
Not to order and purchase and post such articles
Create interesting, live satellites that will surely be read by interested individuals
